Wendi is an occupational therapist and lover of the outdoors, with nearly 25 years of clinical experience. Working more than 17 years in the school-based setting, she has the tools to support and enhance children’s development in all areas of their lives. Wendi’s vision is to provide a natural space where children can find balance to bloom and grow; physically, emotionally, and socially.

Wendi completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy from Rush University, and her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Baylor University in 2021. Her research capstone studied the effectiveness of nature-based occupational therapy programs.  The results were clear: nature-based occupational therapy improves coordination, social, emotional/regulation and cognitive skills which enhances everyday activities in home and school.

When not running summer nature groups, Wendi is a Professor of Occupational Therapy at Indiana University South Bend.  She loves traveling with her husband and 2 kids, spending time with her horse and dog, and being outdoors hiking, kayaking, etc.  Wendi is also a volunteer at Reins Of Life Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center.
